This week was supposed to be a vacation week in Orlando but unfortunately was spent grieving the loss of my father-in-law. I did return for graduation ceremonies at Reynolds Coliseum on Saturday.

My family arrived last Sunday afternoon in Orlando. My father-in-law had a massive heart attack and died on Monday. The funeral was Thursday. Everyone took it hard but the girls seem to be adjusting. Of course it will take a while for my wife Belinda. Please keep her and all of us in your prayers.

Saturday I attended graduation ceremonies of Green Hope and Apex as an honored guest. Both of these schools have a lot of Cary seniors graduating. It was very nice having a front row view of almost 1000 graduates. Watching each and every expression on their faces was priceless. There were a lot of great minds in those graduating classes and I wonder what great accomplishments are awaiting them. I felt blessed to be in attendance and allowed to be on stage.

That’s about all I have to report for this week. Sorry for the short post. Next week promises to be busy with two work sessions on the budget. So I’ll close for now and hopefully post again by Sunday, June 22nd.
